Magnotherm is a young company from Technische Universität Darmstadt with world-leading expertise in permanent magnets and magnetic cooling. It started as a spin-off from the Functional Materials group, led by Prof. Oliver Gutfleisch. In 2019, MagnoTherm Solutions GmbH was founded. The technology, based on solid state magnetocaloric materials, magnets, and water, is capable of revolutionizing the way the world provides low temperatures while increasing the efficiency up to 40% and completely eliminating refrigerant gasses from the cooling cycle and thus completely eliminating direct greenhouse gas emissions, optimizing the system to be the most sustainable solution currently available. By updating the standard gas compression cycle by our magnetic refrigeration cycle, we can build the next-generation cooling or heating solutions.
