Village Data Analytics (VIDA) was developed as an analytical planning tool by TFE Energy with support from the European Space Agency. The TFE Energy team combines deep know-how of frontier markets with strong data-technology expertise.
VIDA is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tool that utilizes satellite imagery, publicly available data, user data and energy modeling to automatically identify off-grid villages and extract insights to assess their suitability for off-grid electrification and de-risk investments. Users are governments, development finance institutions, investors, mini-grid developers and off-grid solar product companies.
