Element Zero is commercializing a novel, low temperature mineral processing platform to decarbonize mining and mineral resources. The combination of ionometallurgy and electrochemistry allows for a paradigm shift and use of renewable energy to produce green metals and zero carbon cement alternatives. The process’s modular nature and simplicity allow for scalable and cost competitive production of metals from a broad range of grades and with various levels of gauge material. Iron, steelmaking, and cement industries contribute approximately 17% of global carbon dioxide emissions, representing over $1 trillion market. Due to the simplicity and scalability of the process, customers do not have to pay any green premium costs. First commercial processing plant will be operational by 2029 in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, a prime iron ore mining province.
