Aerodymax has developed an aerodynamic skirt, which is reported to reduce fuel consumption & emissions by up to 5%, and generate an ROI of 6 months to its users! It is the only commercially available semi-trailer skirt in the European market. ABInBev (biggest brewer in the world) and Jost-Group, have piloted the solution for >100k km in 2023, and have reported 4.9% fuel efficiency. The two are planning to instal more skirt on their trailers in 2024. More big clients are launching pilots now, notably Coca-Cola, Kuehne Nagel and Schwarzmuller. Aerodymax is also developing a Trailer Underbody System – it will incorporate all standard trailer underbody components into one unified system. The “one-size-fits-all” solution would help trailer OEMs to meet the Re 1362/2022 requirements, and would allow truck operators to reduce costs and emissions.
ABInBev, Schwarzmaler (biggest Austrian trailer OEM) and Kreiss.lv are testing and R&D projects.
